Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti in review – Gaming, Turing benchmarks and new insights

WQHD with 2560 x 1440 pixels

Many graphics cards offer really good performance in Rise of the Tomb Raider at 2560×1440 pixels, even if 2x SSAA affect the respective frame rates. However, if you have specifically purchased a very fast QHD display with a high refresh rate, only the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti approaches 100 FPS in these settings. That's 25% more power than a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti offers.

Ultra HD with 3840 x 2160 pixels

Many players believe that 4K excludes the need for anti-aliasing. But just experiment with FXAA or SMAA in Rise of the Tomb Raider if you want and form your own opinion. In this test, however, 2x SSAA was deliberately disabled to keep the results within reasonable limits.

While the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti averages more than 60 FPS, it is much easier to classify the result of the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti with over 80 FPS. However, you pay a hefty premium for this 23% advantage. In return, however, the high-resolution and high-quality gameplay is really pleasant and if you get used to it, you certainly don't want to miss it anymore.
