Noctua NF-A14 FLX Review- Reference for our Test and the Database with 140 mm Fans

Summary

But how much throughput do you get per emitted dB(A)? Here, the 140 mm fan clearly wins over the 120 mm model, even if the static pressure falls somewhat by the wayside. After all, we have seen that the throughput still fits even at lower speeds.

The reference is fixed

From now on, we will use the Noctua NF-A14 FLX as a reference and comparison fan for all tests with 140 mm fans, because it is exactly this fan that gave a very solid and stable picture across all application variants. And the RGB factor does not play a role for the primary task of a fan anyway. That is optical dazzle, which does not help with cooling, itself still wastes energy and with some bad luck even emits noise. You can certainly buy it for your own purposes, but for reference it’s completely unnecessary.

Conclusion

For 21 Euro you can’t go wrong if you don’t need the usual LEDs. This fan offers a good all-round carefree package with a lot of accessories and in the end also a convincing performance. I’m sure they’ll be able to top that, too, but it’s going to be tough for sure, because the bar is already pretty high.
