If you want to store vast amounts of data quickly or simply load it quickly into your favorite game, you have a large selection of different hard drives. On the one hand, HHDs, which are less suitable for loading in, for example. But then there are SSDs, which are much better. But which SSD is best for you? Perhaps you can see for yourself with AORUS’ new Gen 5 1400 SSD, which the company has just announced.

But what are we looking at with this new SSD? It has a PCI-Express 5.0×4, NVMe 2.0 interface with a form factor of M.2 2280. Its total capacity is limited to 4 TB, but enough to store and back up a lot. If you would like to have less memory, you can also enjoy the 1 TB or 2 TB version.
The external cache of the 1 TB version is 2 GB LPDDR4. The dimensions are 80 x 22 x 2.3 mm and supports up to 8 NAND flash channels with 32CEs, but let’s get to the important part, how fast does the Gen5 14000 SSD from AORUS sequencial read and sequencial write? The read rate is 13,600 MB/s, while the write rate limps along at 10,200 MB/s.
The 2 TB version is slightly better than the 1 TB version. It also measures 80 x 22 x 2.3 mm and supports up to 8 NAND flash channels with 64 CEs. In other words, twice as many CEs as the smaller version. There is also a difference in the sequencial write rate in contrast to the 1 TB version, which has a lot more to offer than the smaller version. The read rate here is up to 14,500 MB/s, while the sequencial write rate lags a little, but still reaches 12,700 MB/s. In contrast to the previous generation, this is a significant increase, according to the company AORUS. There is no listing yet for the 4TB variant.
It is not yet known how much the products will cost. The company has also not yet announced a release date.
