Power consumption and efficiency in WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels)
Power consumption is 87 watts higher than an RTX 3070 FE and over 14 watts higher than an RTX 3070 Ti FE. The performance has also increased due to the higher power limit. You can see this in the wattage across all 10 games, as well as in the cumulative efficiency in watts per FPS, where of course the efficiency suffers badly, which is downright grotty compared to the barely slower RTX 3070 anyway. But this is due to the NVIDIA chip in general and not the KFA2 card.
Power consumption and efficiency in Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels)
The power consumption and efficiency of the KFA2 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti SG 8GB do not change here, only the AMD cards break down disproportionately in Ultra HD. But even that doesn’t save the KFA2 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti SG 8GB, because the FE card is also the taillight here.
Gaming performance with DXR (various settings) without DLSS
Here, the KFA2 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti SG 8GB is even significantly below the GeForce RTX 3090 FE in terms of power consumption, which should be due to the 12 GB GDDR6X less. Due to the very efficient Tensor cores, the big cards are even more efficient than the smaller GeForce models.
But gaming alone is not everything and we also want to go into the other load scenarios, the voltages, the load peaks and the power supply recommendation in the following chapters.
