KFA2 GeForce RTX 2080 Ti OC in test – a whopping 380 Watt Power Limit with RGB planking

The fan stop shines through absence and the fans start immediately after switching on with approx. 1500 rpm. However, with just under 3000 rpm in a closed housing, a special-class hurricane is unleashed. As nice as that may be with the high power limit and the preset Power Target, here the GPU is stronger than the cooler and it stands 1-0 in a performance-oriented way.

Let's look at the measured values again in direct comparison to the Founders Edition as a tabular listing:

KFA2/Galax GeForce
RTX 2080 Ti OC
GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Founders Edition
Fan speeds Open Benchtable Maximum 2556 rpm (Gaming, Peak) 2136 rpm (Gaming, Peak)

Fan Speeds Closed Case Maximum 3002 rpm (Gaming, Peak) 2281 rpm (Gaming, Peak)
Fan Speeds Closed Case Average 2996 rpm (warmed up) 2274 (warmed up)
Noise Emission (Air) Average 46.7 dB(A), Closed Case (Peak) 41.9 dB(A), Closed Case
Noise Emission (Air) Idle 32.8 31.8 dB(A)
Sound characteristic / hearing impression loud rushing, slight hum rather noisy, hardly lower-frequency shares
Coil-feathers/electric noises low, only for very high FPS numbers and for load changes low, only for very high FPS numbers and for load changes

Sound Spectrum

The measured 46.7 dB(A) is based on the measured almost 3000 rpm in the closed housing. We have applied the same gaming load to the open body in the measuring room, but we have fixed the fans to 3000 rpm in order to be able to adjust this value exactly. Unfortunately, the result can be heard, because the map operates within the absolute limit range.

This happens mainly in an intrusive soundscape, because you can hear the strong air noise and light motor or motor Storage noises. Most of it comes from the turbulence and is defined by a rather dominant noise. The Founders Edition was much quieter with less waste heat.

Once again, it can only be pointed out that the map is perfect for water-cooled systems or nerve-racking air bath enthusiasts.
