China-exclusive CPUs continue: Arrow Lake-S launches with the Core Ultra 5 230F
Intel is continuing its strategy of offering special processor variants exclusively for the Chinese market. The Core Ultra 5 230F from the Arrow Lake-S series follows this pattern and, like previous models, comes as an “F” variant without an integrated graphics unit (iGPU). According to the Chinese website MyDrivers, the technical details and packaging design of the processor have now been revealed.
Technical specifications of the Core Ultra 5 230F
The Intel Core Ultra 5 230F offers a 10-core configuration with six performance cores (P-cores) and four efficiency cores (E-cores). The most important specifications at a glance:
- Maximum turbo clock: 5.0 GHz (P-Cores)
- TDP: 65 watts
- Cache: 24 MB
The model is positioned in the mid-range performance segment of the Core Ultra 5 series, but will only be available in China.
Design and packaging
The technical data largely corresponds to that of other Arrow Lake S models, although the clock rates and cache sizes have been adjusted to make it more attractive for the Chinese market. The packaging design has also been revised and now appears in a black color scheme, with changes mainly limited to the name and labeling of the box.
Price and availability
The Intel Core Ultra 5 230F is available from Chinese retailers such as JD.com for 1,999 Yuan (approx. 276 USD), making it one of the more affordable models in the Arrow Lake-S series. It remains unclear whether worldwide availability is planned. However, such models often appear at system integrators, which could indicate indirect availability outside of China. With the Core Ultra 5 230F, Intel is continuing its strategy of serving the Chinese market with exclusive products. The technical data and pricing make the processor an attractive choice for users who can do without integrated graphics. It remains to be seen whether this strategy will pay off in the long term and whether such models will also be available outside China in the future.
