Ergonomics and seat test
We tested the armchair with a total of three people. While the male adolescent (16 years, 1.75 m tall and 56 kilos) and the woman (37 years, 1.70 m tall, 67 kg heavy) coped quite well with the seat in all positions, the test for the author (53 years, 1.80 m tall, 105 kilos heavy) was almost a seat technical Boon. We will now go into this in detail and have summarized the individual tests in a table for the sake of a better overview.

The user should not be over 1.90 m tall, but may also be baroque lyshaped in the thigh and buttocks area. Muscle men also get your money's worth, because the seat does not narrow in the shoulder area. However, here comfort is strongly at the expense of the side hold, which, as always, is a subjectively perceived interpretation and thus of course a matter of taste.
The Lordose pillow, however, is completely useless, a pity. The rocking mechanism can be adjusted in hardness, depending on the weight, but is suitable with persons from approx. 90 kg probably already arrived at the end of the optimum. The rather soft upholstery you can like or not. But that's exactly why the icon was conceived as a counterpoint to the epic.
For smaller and lighter people, the icon is rather suboptimal, unless you choose the shorter springs and refer to the contours and the side hold. In the end, it's probably more of a real multifunctional chair anyway, and not a thunderous would-be racing dummy.
Material and workmanship
The choice of material is appealing, the leather of the seat is neat and the remaining PU surfaces are covered with sufficiently thick imitation leather. The upholstery is rather soft and it is to be hoped that the cold foam used will remain in good shape for the long term as it was on the first day. The seams are clean and neat at first and second glance. The Diamond-Stitch is appealing and visually pleasing.
A thick extra plus gets the solid arm rests, which leave little play and whose gap dimensions are almost excellently small. There's (almost) nothing rattling. Only the pre-assembly was not quite optimal.
The overall structure, including the entire mechanics, seems reasonable to the price, the Korean gas spring is a small highlight and the surface coating of the frame parts made of steel is at least acceptable.
Summary and conclusion
First of all, thank you for finally having mercy on all those who would like to have a gaming chair, but just don't want to fit into the normal boom and do without a normal office chair. If necessary, you could even equip the icon with a suitable gas pressure spring for elephants, then the part also carries cola and pizza junkies without any problems.
In the end, there is also the award, which in this sense is not a buying tip – but a subjective evaluation of the author. The price of almost 580 euros is, at least for the leather version, a little solid, but you only have one back in the end. Whether you want to pay the leather just over 200 Euro surcharge in contrast to the PU variant, you have to make up with yourself and your wallet.
Fit, material and workmanship fit anyway and all is included except for the additional accessories. You don't have to mention that you also get very good leather swivel chairs from the office trade in this price range. But the word gaming alone costs extra, which is unfortunately nothing new. And he looks good. at least.
