Ryzen R7 2700X Beginner Overclocking Guide: an 8-core bargain in the fast lane

As mentioned at the beginning, the Ryzen 7 2700X is not only very close to the Ryzen R5 3600, but when it comes to pure gaming, both are de facto the same. If you don’t turn the resolution down completely, there is a measurable difference between the two CPUs, but no really noticeable difference. If you were to fill this table with further benchmarks at this point, the result would be due to the natural variation (no fear, I’ll scare you in the place with SixSigma), about 6-9 FPS in 1080p and at about. 2-3 FPS in 1440p on average.

If we take the 5 FPS difference that we have determined here in 1080p, then that corresponds to 4.2%, which is faster for the Ryzen R5 3600 – in the three games mentioned above. In 1440p, the 3600 is 0.009% faster. The madness! Or what do you say to Chantal? The fact is, both CPUs are virtually the same. In Assassin’s Creed, it’s not really enough for both to supply a 120Hz 1080p/1440p monitor with enough pixels. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider it is the same and in WWZ it is enough in 1080p for a 144 Hz monitor.

While you can also fire a 144 Hz 1440p monitor with 135FPS, no one has been able to make the difference anyway, not even Kevin-Klaus! This means that the Ryzen 7 2700X can be measurably slower in some games if the resolution or the details are also turned down, but now hand on heart, who plays with Lara Croft in 720p at low details? Just to show me now that the single core performance of the Ryzen R5 3600 has a bigger impact we have gone so far, please post this in a forum of your choice, so that your ego does not have to suffer.

I don’t belong to the superhero league that buys an i9-9900k to be able to say I have the fastest gaming CPU in the world! These are most of the ones who then play with their 2080TI in 4K with 60 FPS. This can also be done with a Ryzen 5 2600 and you could have saved at min. 300 €! Ok, before all the professional players who play on 1080p with >200 FPS on a 240Hz monitor, i totally dissent here… You have such a setup because theirs needs it and not to specify it!

So Kinders, now we’re closing the CPU comparison with a few gentle applications.
