Conclusion
With the new Pop series, Fractal Design throws a comprehensive and quite serious portfolio of entry-level cases onto the market. Except for special cases like tiny ITX builds or absolute high-end systems with extensive custom loops, practically all normal use cases are covered by the three case sizes. Furthermore, RGB and side-window muffs are also considered, for which a version without illumination is available in all sizes.
The Pop Air RGB “Green Core” case in question, i.e. the mid-tower version with climate control and green interior, could convince me throughout in terms of the offered performance for the called price (84.99€ – 94.99€). The material appearance and the feel exceed those of the very inexpensive entry-level cases significantly and the built-in features also seem more sophisticated in some places. Even a few nice details like die-cut logos and a storage compartment are on board for all versions. In addition to the build quality, the layout and airflow were also convincing – the test system was easy to install, there was a cable grommet in all “tactically important” places, and the Pop Air literally kept a cool head even in summer room temperatures.
I also liked the bright colors, because they really pop and stand out massively from the black monotony. Both the paint and the color intensity of the Aspect RGB fans are convincing all along the line and will give colorful users a real treat.
