How does competence define itself?
We were delighted when the first correct answer fluttered into our mailbox. Because with only one e-mail, the supporter landed a main hit:
Dear Mr. xxxxxxx,
Thank you very much for your request.
The desired function depends on the power supply used and the motherboard. Both components must support the ErP guidelines. Since not all power supplies and motherboards offer this possibility and we do not have any information about it, we cannot guarantee this.
Sincerely

We have interpreted the “no information on this” in a sympathetic way, as if we had not placed an order, so that a concrete answer to certain components is not possible out of pure ignorance of our choice. That is why we have checked again in a targeted manner. However, the answer was all the clearer:
Dear Mr. xxxx,
we do not have the information.
Sincerely
Xxxxx

Unfortunately, this is wrong, because almost all power supply and motherboard manufacturers now have exact information about compliance at their disposal. In addition, in many areas the production date of an item is sufficiently meaningful. This tarnishes the euphoric image a little, but you have to attest to the existing and very important expertise of the support, because it was the only one of the so-called “big” shops that could respond so precisely.
Unfortunately, the shop also offers only a minimum amount of item data. Often too little for a professional verdict. However, if you add support, the unsavvy customer also has the chance to order without errors. If he then makes an effort himself to the manufacturer. We ponder…
