The structure of the height-adjustable desk
ErgoHide provided me with a 180 x 80 cm height-adjustable desk with an oak tabletop, including maximum possible cable management and RGB light strips in the tabletop, for the test. There is also a PC holder, an extra table lamp, mobile drawer and an organizer.
Quite a lot of stuff, but where is the tabletop? It’s hidden in a foldable box at the bottom. Mega cool – isn’t it? You’ll see in a moment! Now let’s start with the table frame. Unpack everything nicely:
Anyone who has only ever seen IKEA or cheap furniture from a scooter will almost certainly be pleasantly surprised by ErgoHide. An engineer has really put some thought into this. And to make this clearer, I have linked the assembly instructions for you. FYI: You can also order the table legs in white if you don’t like black.

So let’s start by installing the table legs (with motors) in the frame. Yes, there is one motor per side, so the table can weigh up to 140 kilos in total (own weight approx. 40 kilos). Don’t worry, the motors can easily handle the 100 kilo load.
Preparations have already been made and, above all, thought has been put into the design. Simply insert the legs into the recess, push them as far as they will go and screw them tight. For your information, the screws are pre-installed, you only have to tighten them after inserting them into the frame. Now you have to unfold the table top or, ideally, just unpack it.
I’m sure no one believed me about the folding tabletop – or did they? No, the tabletop comes separately. Unpack and off we go.
Now the frame (extendable) is brought to the correct length so that the table can be screwed to the frame. I have already installed the feet here (castors can also be used). You can also see that everything here is designed symmetrically. For example, the milled pockets (circular with a diagonal bar). These are intended for inductive charging (you’ll see later).
Now we have made a small leap through the gallery, because everything is now wired and the shaft for the cable management is already screwed in. If you order the table with cable management, you also get the three sockets and the cable duct. A proper screwdriver and two Allen keys are also included.
ErgoHide also sent me the organizer and an adjustable lamp, I’ll go into these and other extras separately in a moment. Unfortunately I have to disappoint you at this point, because I’m missing some pictures of the table immediately after assembly. I simply forgot them! As I assembled the table together with my son (four years old), this somehow got lost. I was sometimes more concerned with making sure my son didn’t leave any artistic decorations on the table with the screwdriver. What you see now is the current setup as I use it.
Interim conclusion
It takes around 30-45 minutes to assemble, although it takes almost as long to unpack and prepare all the parts. ErgoHide has put a lot of effort into the packaging so that as little damage as possible occurs during transportation. The workmanship and the quality of the materials are absolutely top-notch. All the holes here fit together, so a lot of thought has gone into the design of the tolerances etc. There are no issues with overfitting or jammed threads! The socket strips (three of them) are supplied directly with the system, so you can equip your setup perfectly. Let’s take a look at the extras and then we’ll come to today’s conclusion – next page.
