Technical details and function overview of the EMEET Piko 4K dual-camera webcam
In the age of hybrid working models, digital education and virtual presentations, stable and high-quality video and audio transmission is no longer a luxury, but simply a prerequisite for professional communication. The EMEET Piko 4K dual-camera webcam aims to assert itself in precisely this field of tension, with a technology package that goes far beyond the on-board features of conventional notebook webcams. The combination of high resolution, dual-camera system and algorithm-supported image optimization is aimed at users who demand more than just a reasonably sharp image.
At the heart of the Piko are two 4K sensors, each based on a 1/2.8-inch CMOS, a proven sensor format that is also used in more sophisticated webcams. With an aperture of ƒ/1.8, the system is sufficiently bright to deliver decent results even in sub-optimal lighting conditions. The camera switches between the two lenses depending on the situation, for example for a zoom effect or to adjust the perspective, but genuine parallel operation of both modules is not intended. So anyone hoping for multiviews or split screen will be disappointed. Output is either in 4K at 30 frames per second or in Full HD at 60 fps. This configuration suits the target group, for whom a smooth display is more important than cinematic image depth. The 1.5x digital zoom does provide some leeway, but should be used with caution as excessive use will result in a visibly blurred image.
Supporting AI is used for focus and exposure, with variable but generally useful results. The autofocus takes effect from around ten centimetres and is optimized for face recognition, which is often helpful in everyday life, but can sometimes be irritating if, for example, movements in the background confuse the algorithm. The exposure adjusts adaptively to changes in light and attempts to emphasize the facial area through targeted brightening, a trick that actually results in a more natural image in many lighting situations. Nevertheless, it remains clear that the camera’s intelligence has its limits, and in strong backlighting or changing light sources, manual work on the software controller is sometimes the better solution.
Audio functions: Three microphones, three modes
For voice recording, EMEET relies on a microphone array consisting of three silicone MEMS microphones. These cover a frequency range from 100 Hz to 10 kHz, which is practical for voice communication but not suitable for professional audio production. The microphones can be used in three modes:
- Noise Cancelling Mode: largely blocks out background noise such as fans or keyboard strokes.
- Original Sound Mode: Passes on the sound unaltered, useful in a quiet environment.
- Live Mode: Optimizes speech for streaming formats, including light sound processing.
The microphones are designed for a range of around two meters, which is perfectly adequate for desktop scenarios.
Connection, compatibility and software
The EMEET Piko is connected via USB-C. A 1.5 m cable and a USB-C to A adapter are included. This makes the camera compatible with most current and older devices, be it a notebook, desktop or tablet with a USB port. Plug-and-play is implemented without any problems under Windows 10 and 11, MacOS was also recognized in the test. For more advanced settings, however, we recommend using the in-house EMEETSTUDIO software, which is available on the manufacturer’s website. Here, image parameters such as brightness, contrast or color temperature can be adjusted and the AI functions can be individually adapted. You can also switch between the cameras here. Although the software proved to be feature-rich in the test, it was somewhat confusing at first. Crashes or compatibility problems occurred occasionally, especially when using several video applications at the same time (e.g. OBS Teams). A software update would be desirable here.

Dimensions, design and mobility
The camera measures 56 × 43 × 22 mm and weighs around 40 g. This makes it one of the more mobile representatives of its class. Thanks to its compact design and low weight, the Piko is easy to transport, which is relevant for users with several workstations. However, a dedicated carrying case is not included. The webcam is available in black, white or green. The mount is suitable for monitors and notebooks, but a tripod thread (1/4″) is missing, here EMEET has clearly focused on mobile use.
