ECS LIVA One H610 Mini-PC Review – Barebone for 12th Gen Intel CPUs in a small space

Summary and conclusion

And there we are again at the end. There are no points of criticism in terms of quality or workmanship, and the connectivity is convincing across the board. So let’s move on to the other important criterion for a pleasant user experience: performance!

The relevant values can be compared here with the other mini-PCs from my tests:

Equipped with an i5 12400, the Liva One H610 can keep up quite well, but cannot take over the top. Somewhat surprisingly, this is a desktop CPU and not a mobile processor as found in most other small systems. If you compare the single-core values in Cinebench R23 with other i5 12400s, for example, you don’t notice anything at first, but there is a considerable difference in the multi-core. Normally, this CPU model should deliver around 12500pts, but here it is only 8350pts. So we lose a whopping 33% in performance! If you look at the graph in the Prime95 stress test, you also notice that the maximum boost TDP is not reached. The manufacturer justifies it with limitations stored in the firmware or BIOS of the barebone to be able to keep the limits of the cooler, the voltage converter and the power supply. Understandable, but a pity.

The availability in this country is a bit poor at the time of this review. The box from Geizhals.de linked below will probably be empty, but there are a few offers after all, but not properly categorized and named.

=> Price comparison alternatives

At (currently, 08.12.2022) 230€, it is only just above competitors like the ASRock DeskMini B660 and is smaller, but still has more ports. Very similar barebones from Shuttle are then again much higher in price. If you are looking for exactly such a barebone, you will get a good option here.
