Advanced features
Let’s have a look at some of the “fine tuning” options and possibilities to evaluate power consumption and generation. Tapping on the PowerStream inverter switches to a simpler overview of the various consumers and generators, which is updated every second.
There is a similar menu for the solar panels. For each PV input, current generation is then displayed in watts, voltage in volts, and current in amps.
We already know the display from the Delta 2 Max, but it can be called up again like this. Current capacity, runtime at current consumption and the temperature can be viewed here.
With the Smart Plugs, the power can be switched on or off either on the device itself or via app. A quick overview shows the time switched on today, current consumption and daily consumption.
If you tap on this, everything is also nicely displayed in graphs. Here you can easily switch between day, week, month and year
The scheduled switch-on and switch-off does exactly what the name suggests.
Afreely adjustable delay can also be set.
If you switch to the detailed view of the solar system, everything is also displayed there in clear graphics.
The day view as a detailed graph, the week, month or year then as a bar chart.
A very useful feature in the settings of the inverter is the optional prioritization of the direct supply or the charging of the storage.
Here, for example, I have prioritized the power supply, of the 226 watts generated, 19 watts are automatically read out at the Smart Plugs, 55 watts I have fixed as feed-in and the rest is used for storage.
If I had prioritized power storage, all of the power generated would be used to charge the Delta 2 Max. By the way, switching between the two modes can also be automated via a schedule.
At the very bottom of the device settings, there is also the item Lab Functions, which are more or less beta features. Currently, the communication of the Smart Plugs can be switched from the Matter protocol to a proprietary development of EcoFlow. I had a few problems with Matter, for example, the test integration in Home Assistant did not work properly.
As far as I am informed, the problem is rather due to the still early implementation of the protocol, not to EcoFlow. Also, Samsung smartphones constantly displayed an annoying pop-up on the home screen for setup, even though the smart plugs were already set up. However, the latest firmware update has already fixed this issue as well.
The Delta 2 Max memory also has some functions in this menu. Again, theautomation of certain functions is interesting.
We’ll ignore the untranslated text, they are beta features after all.
