Cyberpunk 2077: New update boosts performance on Intel Arrow Lake CPUs

With the 2.2 update, CDProjektRed has made extensive changes to Cyberpunk 2077 that bring significant performance improvements, especially for Intel Arrow Lake CPUs. The update, which is over 20 gigabytes in size, optimizes various aspects of the game and offers new features.

Optimized threading system and other new features

The changes in update 2.2 include, among other things

  • Adjustment of control options: The W and S buttons can now be reassigned for other actions in the vehicle menu.
  • Improvements to the threading system, increasing performance on Intel Arrow Lake CPUs by up to 33 percent.
  • Additional Razer Chroma effects in certain scenes, including sections in “Phantom Liberty” and romance scenes.

Particularly noteworthy is the optimization of the threading system. This innovation makes it possible to individually prioritize the so-called P-cores (performance cores) of the Intel Arrow Lake processors. Although this feature is not new, as it has already been introduced in previous updates, it seems to work much more efficiently with the current version.

Targeted adjustments for Intel Arrow Lake CPUs

The optimizations are specifically aimed at users of Intel Arrow Lake CPUs, which have only recently been released. Although Intel itself is working on a microcode to further improve performance, CDProjektRed has taken its own measures to better support the processors. With these changes, the game can now benefit from up to a 33% increase in performance. This improvement illustrates how targeted software updates can make better use of hardware. The optimized threading system is a good example of how developers can address the specific strengths of new processors. However, the prioritization of P-cores can also have the opposite effect depending on the scenario. Users who would like to try out this function can still activate it in the game settings.

Prospects and outlook

Although the effects of the new update on other systems have not yet been fully investigated, it offers an interesting perspective on how game manufacturers deal with specific hardware optimization. For gamers using an Intel Arrow Lake processor, the changes could make a noticeable difference in gaming performance. Intel is also working on its own update, which is expected to be released later this month. It remains to be seen whether the combination of game and processor updates will further improve performance. However, this development already shows how closely hardware and software developers are working together to improve the gaming experience. With the release of Update 2.2, Cyberpunk 2077 remains an example of how games can be improved and adapted to current technologies in the long term. Users can look forward to seeing how further optimizations will affect the game and its performance.

Da grätschen Energiespareinstellungen, Vordergrundanwendung, Fokusfenster, Threaddirector etc. rein.
Ansonsten läuft das halt einfach mal 50% langsamer.
Was für ein Mist.

Zumal Einseitige Optimierungen zu lasten anderer geht...

Aber wo haben sie denn noch Erfolg, außer beim Cheaten ?
