Technical data and features
Since there are minimal differences at this point, I’m splitting the section into M65 RGB Ultra and M65 RGB Ultra Wireless. The features that the wireless can also handle, I then do not list again in the corresponding section to avoid redundancies in the text.
M65 RGB Ultra
M65 RGB Ultra Wireless
Common features
Basically, of course, the two mice are extremely similar, being based on the same foundation. Both use the almost iconic aluminum frame as a support, and they’re almost identical on the outside as well.
In addition to Corsair’s optical MARKSMAN sensor with 26,000 DPI, which can be configured in steps of 1 and which can implement accelerations of 50G, the optical OMRON switches for the left and right mouse buttons are also back on board.
Once again, these are equipped with QUICKSTRIKE buttons and ZeroGap technology.
Replaceable glide feet made of 100% PTFE and the obligatory RGB lighting do not need to be explicitly mentioned by Corsair.
The same goes for the tuning weights, which can be used to weigh down the mice by up to 18 grams and thus significantly change the balance. As you can see in the pictures above, there are three openings available, each of which can be weighted with either 2 or 6 grams.
What was completely new to me so far is the integration of a gyro sensor, through which a super-fast lift-off detection and simple mouse gestures can be realized. An extremely interesting thing, as I found out in the course of the test.
Differences
The differences between the two mice are hidden in the details. While the scroll wheel of the M65 RGB Ultra is also illuminated (2 zones RGB), it remains dark on the Wireless (1 zone RGB). The wireless opponent is also at a slight disadvantage in terms of weight, since it weighs 110 grams, which is about 13 grams more than the wired version – despite the battery, however, a fairly manageable difference. Furthermore, the cable connection offers a much higher sampling frequency with an insane 8000Hz, which I will discuss later in the article.
The wireless version uses the already known Corsair SLIPSTREAM technology, which shines with transfer speeds of less than one millisecond. Again, the M65 RGB Ultra Wireless has the option to connect to simple Bluetooth devices as well.
