Optics and haptics
Freed from the packaging, we may now take a first look at this water cooler. Besides the sleek black design, attentive readers may notice that the fans look familiar.
We have already tested them individually here, and I have linked the corresponding article here:
Corsair AF120 Elite 120 mm case fan in test – They are spinning too, a fan without iCUE!
Thanks to the good packaging, the radiator survived the transport without any significant damage. A few irregularities can be spotted here and there on both sides, but overall there is no reason for criticism here.
On the underside of the plain pump block, the copper coldplate and pre-applied thermal paste are waiting to be used. Still worth mentioning here is that the 8 screws for mounting are simply cross and not anything special.
The surface of the coldplate is also rough and not almost perfectly smooth, as is often seen. The Corsair logo is on a small removable plate that is held in place by magnets. If necessary, it can be rotated to stand correctly, depending on the orientation of the pump.
The Corsair AF120 Elite fans look good in their understated color, don’t they?
Assembled like this, you could almost assume that you have a completely unlit AiO in front of you. But then the “RGB” in the name wouldn’t make sense, but Corsair has still included a small piece of rainbow.
