Since pretty much everything now has RGB lighting, manufacturers are looking for new ways to make their products light up even more. And so it happens that we find more and more small displays in hardware. Today we take a look at Corsair’s new AiO water cooler, which also features a circular screen.
Packaging and scope of delivery
Once again, an almost completely black cardboard box with small yellow accents from Corsair awaits us, the large product image on the front and sides may not be missing, of course. The back then provides information about the features of this AiO, especially the display’s functionalities are touted.
The box is much more dreary when opened, but that’s nothing new. The usual mix of cardboard casing and plastic bags.
The included accessories are also mostly made of what can be seen over and over again. Various brackets, spacers and screws. However, the Y-cable for the internal USB port is interesting!
This AiO needs one connector for the included fan/RGB hub and another one only for the IPS LCD display. Since most boards only have two internal 2.0 ports, if any, you don’t block potential front ports on the case or other internal uses thanks to the splitter. Good thinking, Corsair! Criticism follows directly: Why is there no tube of thermal paste included in a high-end cooler?
Assembly and installation
First, the two matching brackets for the base are inserted into the side of the pump block. Afterwards, the plastic bracket pre-installed on AM4 mainboards has to be removed, and four spacers are screwed into the existing backplate.
After the pump block has been placed on the CPU, it is fixed with four thumbscrews. Then it’s time to lay the cable and connect the included controller hub.
