Cooler Master MM710 – Lightweight with a small price

Sensor
The sensor is the Pixart PWM 3389, an optical sensor that is currently one of the best on the market. I have absolutely nothing to do with the sensor, it has no annoying acceleration correction is extremely precise and I couldn't cause it to lose tracking, stutter or overturn, which I wouldn't have expected. Even at a distance of just under 5mm above the table, the mouse moves precisely. I couldn't see a strong war of lifting.

Software
There are four setting areas in the software: the first is the key assignment, where each key can be assigned to a function at will. The second is called Performance and allows you to set mouse sensitivity in 100 DPI steps for seven levels. Even the X and Y directions can be imagined independently of each other. I was also able to determine the sampling rate here, whereby I would recommend to stick to the standard 1000Hz. There are also settings for angle snapping, lift distance, OS sensitivity, OS double-click speed, and key response time. The last feature on this page is a surface tuning, where surfaces can be tested and scanned to improve performance and precision. However, I couldn't tell much difference to the standard detection here, but I tested on a brand new mouse pad. I suspect that this option is more likely to be used to improve imperfections in older mouse pads.

Summary
The MM710 wants to be light, reduced and focused and thus stand out from the crowd. The last few years have been full of RGB madness and a marketing battle between manufacturers over who can pack most of the features in a confined space. That's why I find the MM710 so refreshing. She convinced me so much that she has replaced my old mouse since the test. In my opinion, it is a real competitor for some high-end gaming mice for just 50€.

It is well built, looks great – and without lighting – it has a good sensor and is extremely light. I find it really hard to find negative points here, because apart from the small problem with the buttons that can be activated by the housing wall, I find none. The MM710 absolutely convinced me of the concept of lightweight mice.
