The company Colorful has announced that it will be launching its new flagship mainboard today, September 2, even though it is quite late for Intel’s current socket. This is the “iGame Z790D5 Vulcan”, which looks quite appealing. But let’s first take a look at the technical specifications and then judge.
The mainboard is available in the E-ATX form factor and measures 305 x 277 mm. You can choose between two colors. So between the classic black and white. The black model is called “iGame Z790D5 VULCAN X V20”, while the white version is called “iGame Z790D5 VULCAN W V20”. The mainboard is powered via a 19 1 1-phase design. It supports dual-channel DDR5-7800(OC) MHz memory, with a single slot capable of holding up to 48 GB, allowing a maximum total capacity of 192 GB. The motherboard is equipped with an LGA 1700 socket and is therefore only compatible with Intel processors of the 12th, 13th and 14th generation.
But you can also implement enough memory in the mainboard, as I already wrote. The motherboard offers one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 SSD slot and three PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 SSD slots. In addition, six SATA ports are available so that enough accessories can be connected and you don’t have to worry about having too little hard disk space. So the iGame Z790D5 Vulcan is not lacking in connections. The following interfaces are available:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A interfaces
- 4x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A interfaces
- 2x USB 4 Type-C interfaces (supports video output, up to 4K 60Hz resolution)
- 1x DP 1.4 interface, supports up to 8K 60Hz resolution
- 1x HDMI 2.0 interface, supports up to 4K 60Hz resolution
- 1x 2.5G network interface (the network card is an RTL8125BG 2.5 Gbit network card)
- 1x 5G network interface (RTL8126-CG 5 Gbit network card)
- 2x WiFi 6E antenna interfaces (BE200 WiFi 7 wireless network card)
- 5x audio interfaces (audio input/audio output/microphone)
- 1x fiber optic audio output interface
As usual, the mainboard has also been upgraded with LEDs so that you can admire it in all its colors even in the dark, if you need to. As already mentioned, the mainboard is being launched today, but there is still no information on price and availability.
