The final assembly of the GPU custom loop
The aluminum plates are screwed to the radiator of the AiO in the lower area and are intentionally a bit longer to provide a bit more torsional stiffness. It doesn’t necessarily look pretty, but it works great, just as intended!
Now I could install the small 360 x 45 mm monster with enough space between the radiators. The cable management is so far quite well done. Not my parade discipline! Of course you can see the aluminium plates sticking out a bit at the top.
All cables well placed and the first test to see if it works is passed. In the background you can already see the expansion tank with the pump. Here the combination of Alphacool ice bucket Aurora D5 150 mm and the Alphacool ice pump VPP755 is used. A few more fittings and hose intersections later, the whole then – looked like this!
Water for bathing was also already let in! I hosed the GPU so that I can swap it out at any time using quick connectors. These are secured against accidental opening. This solution approach fits perfectly! I’ve linked a video of how the whole thing works for you here.
There’s a maximum of one drop coming out of the system when you separate the whole thing. Super solved by Alphacool, praise and recognition!
The Alphacool Eisbaer Aurora 360 also has such a quick connector, so you could have actually done without the dedicated pump with expansion tank. I personally think it’s better as separate systems though! So now that everything is submerged, let’s take a look at temperatures, fan speeds, etc. Turn the page!
