Personal experience & conclusion

Finally, a brief summary with the personal impressions I recorded during the test. First of all, I liked the workmanship and feel of the headset very much. It may not look quite as elegant due to the lack of metals and classy-looking surfaces, but it probably appeals even more to the target group with its modern textures and high-contrast lighting. Everything feels valuable and stable, and it does not crack or creak anywhere. What frustrated me a bit, though, was the relatively short and yet very stiff cable, which only finally stopped going right back to its bent original shape after several bends and fumbles.

The wearing comfort is above average, so that you hardly feel the headset on your head. For very large ears, however, the functional principle of the closed earpieces can be somewhat disadvantageous, because it leads to a small heat build-up and can possibly press slightly on one or the other corner of the ear. As is so often the case, this is the result when Asians alone have been used as a blueprint for global hearing organs.

The sound is, and I will not tire of emphasizing this, of course a personal preference and therefore completely subjective. If you make an unfair comparison with hi-fi headphones, the headset lacks a bit of clarity and resolution in the lower midrange and treble, but that’s apparently not what it was designed for. A gaming headset is supposed to provide good voice communication and, above all, good localization, and in that respect I can definitely say that the Delta S is excellent. But for music you should really use a second device.

Finally, let’s move on to the price. ROG is on it and of course that is mercilessly priced in. The headset is not cheap, on the contrary, but should satisfy the intended target group quite well. It’s certainly a bit too expensive for my taste, but in the end, as always, that’s up to everyone to sort out for themselves. Everyone has their own monetary premises and acoustic targets.
