CPU Pro Reviews System Workstations

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X and 3900X in workstation test against Intel's Skylake X, Coffee Lake and of course yourself in 65-watt eco mode

The compute and HPC area is huge and you could have been dead. However, as a precautionary measure, I would like to point out that my time is finally our complete run of all the benchmarks of this review for only a single CPU can easily take 18 hours and more. Sure, more would have been better, but then I'm sure I'll still be testing next week. And that is exactly where I have to recognize my limits and ask for your understanding.

In addition, there are the imponderables of Windows 1909, which i.e. testing the compiler speed has thoroughly failed. This also applies to some multimedia applications and encoders, so you should wait for program patches here first. Let's start with the benchmarks, where the renditr is able to unfold brightly. To some others, however, I have to say a few words below.

Python, as in Math Lab, relies on Intel's Math Kernel Library (MKL) in many areas. NumPy in particular suffers a little. Still, it's still enough for the overall win, where Intel's HEDT platform doesn't perform really well, despite home advantage. Unfortunately, there is no real workaround for this, which could have extended the lead even further. Unfortunately, setting environment variables is not enough.

The FFTW test looks just as weird, because Intel is gallantly preferred here. SSE only for AMD? One would have to look at this in more detail.

Same distance, but different program.

And another candidate who prefers to play with Intel. Unattractive, but unfortunately the reality.
