Summary of gaming performance in 1080p
Next higher resolution and already a little more related to practice. And how does the new CPUs perform in Full HD with and without OC? I certainly don’t need to comment further on the obvious, because the trend remains the same in Full HD as it has just been in 720p, even if the gaps are narrowing slightly. Once again: there really are some best-case scenarios where the new Ryzen 7 9800X3D runs away like there’s no tomorrow. It’s just that a lot of light always creates some shadows and those who have ensured a more balanced selection will be amazed again, but won’t take off completely. Ok, a little bit.
The gain without OC is 8.4 percent, which is more or less what AMD had in mind. Of course, the performance never scales ideally to the clock rate, so the cache can also visibly contribute its advantage here. But if you don’t exclusively play games that benefit disproportionately from the cache, then the result is not quite so extreme that you would have to thoughtlessly replace a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. For the rest of the CPUs and your own well-being, it is still more than sufficient.
The P1 Low also looks crisp again, even if such ratings don’t change the general gaming performance. But here the new Ryzen 7 9800X3D can trump the Ryzen 7 7800X3D by around 11 or even 12 percent. Incidentally, it is even subjectively noticeable that the scrolling is significantly smoother. I would also like to refer to the variances and percentiles as individual metrics.
Performance metrics of the individual tests
- 1 - Introduction and technical data
- 2 - Heatspreader details and thermal paste
- 3 - Test setup and methods
- 4 - Fast overclocking and undervolting
- 5 - Gaming Performance HD Ready (1280 x 720 Pixels)
- 6 - Gaming Performance Full HD (1920 x 1080 Pixels)
- 7 - Gaming Performance WQHD (2560 x 1440 Pixels)
- 8 - Power consumption and efficiency
- 9 - Temperatures, summary and conclusion
