Yesterday, AMD launched the Ryzen 4000 Mobile CPUs already presented at CES 2020. Some notebooks with the brand new chips are already available for order.

Initial tests show the flagship Ryzen 9 4900H(S) is a huge leap in performance compared to the last generation. Obviously, with the same consumption, the Renoir-baptized CPUs can leave Intel's opponents well behind in both single and multicore performance in most scenarios. In the Cinebench R20 multicore test, the mobile Ryzen 9 is almost close to Intel's desktop flagship i9 9900K.

It will be exciting to see if Intel's upcoming 10th Generation against the fast Ryzen chips, because the re-used 14nm process is already plentiful. It seems that AMD is ahead of the pack in mobile CPUs for the first time in history – at least for now.
