With the Radeon RX 9060 XT, AMD is expanding its RDNA 4 graphics card series with a model aimed at price-conscious users who do not want to do without modern technologies. The card was unveiled today, May 21, 2025, at Computex and is only available via board partners, as AMD does not offer reference designs (MBA – Made by AMD).
Board partner models
As AMD does not offer any reference designs for the RX 9060 XT, all available models come from board partners. The well-known manufacturers include XFX, Acer, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor and Sapphire. Prices for the 8 GB models start at around USD 450, while the 16 GB variants are priced at around USD 520.
Market positioning and competition
The Radeon RX 9060 XT is positioned in the mid-range performance segment and competes directly with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. While AMD’s card scores with higher clock rates and larger memory variants, NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti offers GDDR7 memory and DLSS support. The choice between the two models therefore depends on individual preferences and the specific area of application.
Conclusion
With the Radeon RX 9060 XT, AMD offers a modern graphics card for the mainstream market that supports the latest technologies such as ray tracing and AI acceleration. The availability exclusively through board partners allows for a variety of designs and cooling solutions, giving users a wide choice. However, current pricing combined with competition from NVIDIA could pose a challenge for AMD.
