AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT overclocked up to 2.1 GHz with the MorePowerTool – and driven into bandwidth limit

The other five games show neither clear limits in bandwidth nor in power supply. The scaling of the performance with the clock is a bit different, but you will have to look for more conspicuous features in vain:

Summary and Conclusion

As long as you take the card as the manufacturer delivers it to you or Wattman allows it manually, at least you won’t run so fast into the bandwidth limit. With power consumption, the chance of throttling is more likely, but that’s something you won’t notice either. However, if you overclock beyond what AMD actually gave the card as a limit, then in individual cases and with certain high settings, the 128-bit interface can become a bottleneck. In Tomb Raider, this even happens so clearly that the game already dumps into the unplayable with only 100 MHz more OC.

Technically speaking, nothing would stand in the way of an OC with the MPT and approx. 2000 to 2050 MHz, at least technically, except perhaps a green conscience, which everyone has to decide for themselves. The efficiency of the card slides however afterwards into the bottomless. Because landing with almost 190 watts at the average performance level of a Radeon RX 590 is somewhat questionable. Well, it needs 60 watts more, but both values are simply no longer up to date.
