Sum of CPU and GPU power consumption
You really have to look at it as a whole, because more draw calls of course also drive up CPU performance and thus package power. In the comparison, we see the measured power consumption of the GPU as an average value for the respective benchmark in direct comparison to the sum of the GPU and the package power of the CPU:
This also works as GPU-only:
The bars are of course clearer in total:
CPU power consumption
I did the CPU power recording again extra because it is actually highly interesting and also gives a good feeling about bottlenecks. Again, everything in detail, you can see the respective settings in the chart. In the course of the benchmark time it looks like this:
Efficiency analysis
In order to be able to judge the efficiency really cleanly, I also measured the power consumption in detail for every single benchmark, whose results we already know, which we could also see in detail on the previous page. But what can we expect if we now put the two values in relation to each other in a meaningful way? How many watts of power consumption does a single frame cost me per second (more or less)? The finding is quite astonishing, because AMD is doing well here, even if the efficiency gets worse with increasing resolution.
The bottom line is that we end up right here:
