Foreword to benchmarks and overclocking
We focus on the best possible playability and less on brilliant playback quality. This almost always requires the selection of the lowest details and the limitation of the screen resolution. Therefore, we first use a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and determine which settings are really (still) running optimally. For the better full HD resolution with 1920 x 1080 pixels, there are still six combinations or APUs, which also means that we do without the non-overclocked Ryzen 3 2200G. AMD explicitly doesn't apply for Full HD, and if you're honest, it's not enough.
However, we also overclocked both APUs, with the margin of manoeuvre, especially with the Ryzen 5 2400G, enormous. The CPU part ran at 4.0 GHz and the GPU at 1555 MHz, while the smaller Ryzen 3 2200G was still stable with 3.9 GHz for the CPU and 1400 MHz for the GPU. More was more in places, but with sporadic crashes. This means that the CPU part is roughly at the level that the normal Ryzen CPUs achieve stable.
Three small drops of wormwood, however, cloud the euphoria a little, because our Ryzen 5 1400 could not be moved to a stable operation in this setup, especially since the motherboard used also shortly from the end of the second tests suddenly refused the service completely two tests because AMD only recently replaced BIOS and drivers again shortly from the weekend and we had a full two days left to repeat the benchmarks completely. In addition, we were unable to test with a Radeon RX 550 because the card we ordered never arrived, despite paid overnight delivery, so we had to use the GeForce GTX 1030.
3dmark
The very positive image of the (overclocked) APUs continues with the physics benchmark of the Fire Strike, whereby the Ryzen 5 2400G in particular can very well stage itself.
The Time Spy gives a fairly similar picture, with the bars speaking for themselves.
