AMD Adrenalin 25.6.1: RX 9060 XT officially supported, FSR 4 in over 55 games

With the new Adrenalin Edition 25.6.1 driver package, AMD is back in the race on the software side and is setting the course for the newly released Radeon RX 9060 XT. The list of FSR-4-compatible games has also been significantly expanded – a small comeback in the shadow of NVIDIA’s DLSS empire.

RX 9060 XT: The little brother gets its blessing

The Radeon RX 9060 XT, a NAVI-44-based mid-range GPU with either 8 or 16 GB GDDR6, is finally getting full official support with the new Adrenalin driver. Those who previously had to hope for half-baked compatibility can now look forward to smoother interaction. The Radeon AI Pro R9700, a workstation card with 32 GB memory based on RDNA-4, also finds its place in this driver – a sign of AMD’s ambitions in the professional segment.

FSR 4: Now with 55 titles

The highlight of the update, however, is the expansion of AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 4.0 to a further 14 games, bringing the total number to over 55. These include titles such as Star Wars Outlaws, Frostpunk 2, Stellar Blade and F1 25. However, the new upscaling technology only works on RDNA 4 GPUs, i.e. RX 9070 and RX 9060 XT. Owners of older cards are looking through the cracks.

The complete list of new additions reads like an indie AAA mix:

  • Deadzone: Rogue
  • F1 25
  • Frostpunk 2
  • Legacy: Steel & Sorcery
  • Lords of the Fallen
  • Planetaries
  • QANGA
  • Rem Survival
  • Runescape: Dragonwilds
  • Star Wars Outlaws
  • Steel Seed
  • Stellar Blade
  • Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O
  • Wild Assault

With a further ten titles in the pipeline, including Crimson Desert and the equally quirky Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, FSR 4 could at least nominally catch up. However, AMD is still lagging behind NVIDIA’s DLSS 4, which currently has 125 games.

Teething problems and known issues

However, the update also brings known weaknesses to light. AMD itself describes game crashes in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 with ray tracing enabled and in The Last of Us Part 1 as “intermittent”. The fact that the remaster of Onimusha 2 is now running is a consolation for retro fans, but no consolation for next-gen bugs.

Mandatory update with minor bugs

Adrenalin 25.6.1 is a mandatory program for RX-9060-XT owners and brings AMD’s software stack up to date. FSR 4 is now at least an alternative for current RDNA 4 hardware. But without broader compatibility and better bug-fixing, AMD remains in the shadow of NVIDIA’s economic ray tracing paradise. The will is there, but the homework hasn’t quite been done yet.
