Volume flow (throughput) in m³h
The black bar is the specification from the data sheet, which we check with at this point. Let’s start with the value for m3 per hour, which is more common in Germany, and compare the individual installation variants from pure case fans to use on 60 mm radiators. You can see that the fan even exceeds the targets in the open setup and without radiators, virtually catching up with the reference. At the lower speeds it can’t quite keep up with the reference but it really gets interesting on the radiator. Because here it can then draw level at the same (reduced) speed and even pull away in the low range. However, the strengths lie with the thicker radiators from 45 mm, although the slim radiators with the narrow mesh still perform quite well.
But, this is important, at the end we will evaluate the rotational speeds in relation to the sound level and the volume flow achieved, and in doing so we will discover some astonishing things. So it remains quite exciting, because speed is not equal to speed!
Volume flow (throughput) in cfm
The whole thing again in cfm. However, since only the unit of measurement changes, what has already been said for the airflow applies to the same extent.
