Summary
Of course, every customer has different premises and you get an appealing performance in the case here. The sound carpet is already annoying when running the Alpenföhn Wing Boost 3 PWM 140mm as a pure case fan at full power. Whereby – what does full power mean here? Even at 1075 rpm there is no performance here, only acoustically it can’t be ignored that the fan is really on. Compared to the reference, you can then see the full extent of the catastrophe.
On a radiator, however, no matter what the thickness (and with no answer to the question of how a customer without our smart clamping device would even get the part tight), the draft is almost completely absent. Please don’t copy it, it’s only worth it for the manufacturer at the bell desk.
So you can see that the fan is failing across the board. There is no need for any further explanations, because the measured values speak for themselves and a very clear language.
Conclusion
It’s an explicit buy warning and non-buy recommendation for the first time in a long, long time, as much as I hate to do such a thing. The last failed product was over a year ago, but here I just couldn’t help myself without starting to lie. These fans are, on balance, a complete waste of resources of what had to be spent on production. No performance, but a nasty and dull soundscape – you definitely won’t like something like that. There are tests that certify the fan all sorts of positive things, but obviously no one has ever measured and compared with a fan that is really usable. Too bad about the time, but at least we are richer by another insight and the database continues to grow. In order to gain a positive aspect from the whole thing.
