You cannot overclock card to higher values that were originally hardcoded in VBIOS.Does anyone have an idea how to solve the problem?
In your case it is 1900 mHz. As soon as you set it to even 1901, card will go into safe mode

I can set the Memory Frequency in Wattman to 1950MHz, and it works. Checked with HWinfo64 and 3DMark.You cannot overclock card to higher values that were originally hardcoded in VBIOS.

The issue is that after i set the Memory Frequency to an OC value, i have no more control over the Max Frequency, which is set to 500MHz, and the Power Limit, set to 0. So with a Max Frequency of 500MHz this makes no sense of course.
No Problem for the Card, just check that the temperatures are in an save range.Alright, thanks for the explanation
Currently i have the Power Limit raised from 100W to 120W through MPT. With +20% from the WattMan the card can use max. 144W.
Would you consider this still safe? GPU Hot Spot Temperature doesn't exceed 92°C under full load.
Schon jemand n EVC an ner RDNA3?
Moreover, they create VBIOS and send them to AMD for signing iirc.Manufacturers are only allowed to do what AMD allows them.
Is something like this the culprit?
/*
* With SCPM enabled, PSP is responsible for the PPTable transferring
* (to SMU). Driver involvement is not needed and permitted.
*/
/*
* With SCPM enabled, the operation below will be handled
* by PSP. Driver involvment is unnecessary and useless.
*/
if (!adev->scpm_enabled) {
ret = smu_v13_0_0_append_powerplay_table(smu);
if (ret)
return ret;
}
Its the same, equal mindset - although NVIDIA did still allow XOC Certificates.Moreover, they create VBIOS and send them to AMD for signing iirc.
With Nvidia it is even more fun, as they required to use Nvidia servers to even create VBIOS as well if what i heard is correct.
To be fair, my knowledge may be fogged if information i have is incorrect.
