Hello. I have some questions:

  1. I have a reference 6700xt under constant light load in windows, that is downclocking core when it reaches 78oC current temp/80-81oC hotspot temp..is there is a way to change this limit using this using MPT? If temp drops it will recover clock automatically..However why is this limit at that temp? I want to change it because the reference cooler is trash, even at full speed it's not efficient to move the heat (under 100w but hot sealed room)

  2. I heard now you can unlock vcore limit and vram clocks on even reference 6900xt? How to do it and what driver i need to use?

  3. Is there documentation anywhere for all features/option available in MPT for Rdna 2/Navi 2x cards?! I know the basic ones but i need documentation for the rest

    Thanks

I didn't want anyone to temper with temperature limits, so i didn't implemented them in MPT. But then i added some other settings, and with them you can effectively remove any temp throttling, for that go to the "More" tab, click "Throttler". So, maybe i should add the the temperature limits in some feature release.
I wouldn't recommend to remove all limits, that would be a very bad idea. But, if you leave the TEMP_HOTSPOT limit and only uncheck TEMP_EDGE, which my 6600 has by default, maybe the throttling is not a problem anymore. And the safety limits are still there, your hotspot temperature seems to be OK, might be some headroom there. Don't remove any "VR"-limits, that would be another very bad idea. If the downclocking still appears, feel good about working safety features and a healthy, hot card.

Thanks a lot, don't worry i'll be monitoring the behavior, i have core clock limit ~1200mhz so i don't expect the card to go much higher. (Btw i saw the throttler sub-menu and knew it was related to this but couldn't find any info). Either way i'll report back in a bit.

As for the other questions, especially documentation (because i want to mod/push my reference 6900xt further but not go to external VRM control like with elmor EVC) i would really appreciate it. I am sure there is a lot more info here about it but i don't know german sadly, even english is not my native language.

edit: .....Turns out it's hitting 105oC on vram lol..can i undervolt MVDD and MVDDCI under windows or it's not possible? ;p
edit2: ok tried it it works;p

There is a way to raise voltage, but this is only for experts and benchmark runs. It is called "Temperature Dependent Vmin", you have to activate it under "Features" in the first tab, and then the values in the "Power" tab apply. You can raise the minimum level above the maximum allowed voltage, but this also prevents the card to lower the voltage under load, so be very, very careful.

@All
last few days some members of the community helped me by testing a new tool, the MoreClockTool. It basically does what wattman is doing, only without all the fancy graphic sliders and all. If you also want to test it:

you have to activate it under "Features" in the first tab
Hi!
Am I right to assume that piecewise linear droop model is used for the DFLL supply?
I mean looking at the curve tab, quadratic curve values are all set to zero for my reference 6800XT GFX IP (smu 58.84), while I've seen a couple of screens of MPT curve tab for some recent 6900XT cards with these values (a,b,c) set as expected. Does it mean PSM V/Count characteristic thus non-linear or it's calibrated with the fused a,b,c ?

And btw could it be that VddGfxOffset (voltage slider value in wattman) is in fact the adaptive voltage margin that is adjusted according to target vs. effective frequency delta, and then combined with the target Vdd to form DFLL voltage supply (S.V.Kosonocky, 2018) or is it something else?
