Hi,
I am failing to update Gigabyte 5700 XT. The same procedure updates the BIOS on MSI cards with no problem. I follow the instructions on Igors Lab.

The sign of having trouble with the card bios flash shows in GPU-Z. After flash using amdvbflash the values of GPU and memory frequencies is empty. With stock bios there are Mhz frequencies.

Is there any known problems with flashing Gigabyte cards?
Any suggestions on what other forums I may ask for assistance?
Is it possible that the OEM bios is signed, and any modified bios will be rejected?
If the bios is signed, any tools to resign, or would I need to buy a card from a different vendor?

Thanks,

Alley Cat

Sudden GPU death usually represents insufficient vcore voltage. I would suggest increasing vdd +5mv until its stable.

I have a Gigabyte 5700 nonXT Gaming OC and it does 1440MHz/945MHz @ 790/835/1350 with MPT settings: 100A TDC Limit GFX & 10A TDC Limit SoC, DPM3 set at 960, rest of MPT and RBE values are same as in Mini_Me's instructions. It's stable.
For XT version on Aorus, you shouldn't go below 120A TDC GFX & 11A TDC Limit SoC, but you're welcome to try down to 105A/10A (some of my XT cards run stable with low Amp TDC)

says 128w in software but pulls around ~118watts from the wall.

I have to create a template to apply at the web or at the phone. Someone knows another option?
By "use the overclock window", I mean click on these in the phone app:
1610613305517.png
In phone app it will present you more options than it does in a browser on pc:

Once you set "Core State" & "Mem State" on your phone app, it will stick. They will stay there the next time you edit overclock values on PC.

I'm sorry for my previous unclarified explanation.

I talked with HIVEOS and here is the answer:
-This state fields dissapear if there is no GPU in rig, that abler to change them.
-If you have polaris GPU (like rx470\580) they must be appeared here. But, for example on NAVI-series GPUs there is no ability for changing this states.

Thank you for your kind and informative feedback,

I am going to remove it from the guide.

Hi, I am looking for an advise here.
I have Gigabyte RX 5700 XT GAMING OC 8G (rev.1) with stock BIOS. Apart of the currently low hashrate and high power consumption, the FAN of the cards runs 100% under the HIVE, and I can't control it at low. No settings have any impact on it.

Does anyone experience this issue ?
Attached is the current BIOS flash, maybe is something wrong there.

Would have anyone a bit of time to mod this BIOS for me as well ?

Thanks a lot

Hi and welcome,

Please use the vbios in the kindly attached link below,

And follow the guide in the kindly attached link below,

Is 56 mhs the best I will get on a 5700XT with samsung memory? I recently got a MSI mech oc
Hey,
You can push MECH OC just under 58 with (remain cautious):
Power Limit GPU: 160W
TDC Limit GFX: 132 A
TDC Limit SoC: 14 A

Maximum Voltage GFX: 1090 mV
Maximum Voltage SoC: 1090 mV

1420 MHz, 810 - 820 mV : 940 (1880/2) MHz, 900 mV, 1390 mV
However without good airflow to keep your GPU cool you may end-up with a crisp.
Personally - I don't think that pushing this hard is going to benefit your revenue as the total power consumption in my test on 6x GPU went to 1010W, not to mention the longevity of the GPUs themselves.

By all means - recommendation is to stay at the safe levels.

Regards,

Andy

BTW: The temp in the cave is 15c. I think is to heat!

Did you install Hive on top of Ubuntu/Debian or compiled kernel yourself?

I see your OpenCL version is 20.40 -- while this is fine, its intended to be used for 6000 series. OpenCL 20.30 works much better with Navi series and is way more stable than 20.40 with 5600/5700 series IMHO.

Try to stick with the what comes with stable release of default HiveOS image, and update via "selfupgrade" command.

Latest kernel and/or latest OpenCL isn't best for every system combination.

Try to downgrade OpenCL to 20.30 >> Guide to update amd drivers on Hive OS or reinstall HiveOS using latest stable release

What are your parameters for TRM?

For ethermine, it might help with:
--algo=ethash
--eth_stratum_mode=ethproxy
--eth_variant_mode=pool
as extra config arguments.

Also, you should try firing up TRM with --debug or --pool_debug to see if it outputs anything useful as to why it closes connection.

Heloo . How can you see the older logs from the miner's activity? I ask this because my miner restarts every few hours, and I don't know which of the graphics cards restarts?
