Question AMD Radeon Pro W5700 for mining ethereum

I am contemplating about buying this card because someone is offering this to me for a cheaper price here where I live. From my understanding, this card is just the "professional" / "workstation" equivalent of RX 5700 XT.



Any thoughts on this card? Has anyone here actually used this for mining? Does anyone know what the hashrate is? Can an unlocked BIOS be flashed on this GPU?

hello boys,

i had 1 w5700 micron and 1 samsung

both from dell

if i try to bootstrap them at the reboot they crash the system (black screen and cannot boot anyway)

i had to reflash them by ch341 (eprom programmer)

i use to flash them with the 105 bios modded by minime but nothing to do,black screen and cannot reflash with apu or another pci ex or pci vga card...

i'm not able to recognize which bios i have on my card...they have a long string starting with 117 (tomorrow i will post shot with gpuz)

where i can read the bios version of mine card?

This works on every W5700 i have tried...14 so far. 2 were dell, 12 reference, 0 HP.
It's the AMD reference bios for the 5700XT with the apple straps applied. Works every time.
I get 55Mh @~95W for Samsung. You can push it more if you want...i'm fine with 750/1350/1760 settings and the low wattage.

I initially tried a bunch of the bios that were modded and posted by minime, and didn't have good luck with them. What worked for me was using the AMD reference 5700 XT bios and adding the apple straps. Now i just stick with that regardless of what version the W5700 initially is.

So if you flashed my bios and it worked...why do you keep trying to go back to a V106 bios? I don't see the point.

But it was giving lot of invalid shares with your bios for W5700 ver 107 cards

Hi huskydawg9! whats max tmem of your w5700? i have 82c tmem, 57 tedge,65 tjct..its too much?

GPU-Z shows the bios version as 017.001.000.068.013771
