Question 6900xt and MorePowerTools to raise max gpu volt

Did some testing. Factory volt/MHz is as follows:
<=1900MHz 800mV
.>1900 and <2600, "mV setting" in the amd radeon tool affects curve
.>=2600MHz 1175mV

Adjusting the max mV via MorePowerTool doesn't seem to produce desired results on the 6900xt reference card.
1200mV resulted in 1018 max mV, same 800mV minimum
1250mV results in system crashes. Probably due to too low mV for the MHz, or due to the "curve calculation" failing completely and doing screwy things.

So clearly only adjusting the max mV value doesn't work with reference 6900xt driver. I saw a report that this does work with a aib 6900xt though (at least at 1350mV).
Does anyone know if the curve adjustment method (in its own tab in MPT) is worth a try? I'd prefer not to mess up the windows install by blindly trying different values though.
