I have several 3080 and 3070 cards, Founders Ti edition.
The memory temps for the 3080 Ti's were getting really high, reaching 105+ and thermal throttling. So one on card i have replaced the pads, this has made a massive improvement on the memory temps, before 100% fans would reach 105+ on the memory, now i can run the fans at 80% and the mem temps doesnt go any higher than ~85 degrees with the same overclock settings.
My only problem ( maybe ) is that now the core + gpu hotspot temps have increased by ~10 degrees.
Is this normal? Or have i done something wrong? Should i open the card again?
I want to get it all correct before i go ahead and redo the thermal pads on the other cards i own.
I used a combination of 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm 12.8w/mk thermal pads. And i used Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for the paste, and spread it evenly on the chip
