Hi,
I am failing to update Gigabyte 5700 XT. The same procedure updates the BIOS on MSI cards with no problem. I follow the instructions on Igors Lab.

The sign of having trouble with the card bios flash shows in GPU-Z. After flash using amdvbflash the values of GPU and memory frequencies is empty. With stock bios there are Mhz frequencies.

Is there any known problems with flashing Gigabyte cards?
Any suggestions on what other forums I may ask for assistance?
Is it possible that the OEM bios is signed, and any modified bios will be rejected?
If the bios is signed, any tools to resign, or would I need to buy a card from a different vendor?

Thanks,

Alley Cat

I hope that the card was not tempered before you buy it however it is not a problem,
It is better not to flash the moded bios of the other sapphire card,
Let us make a new moded bios for this card from the backup of its original one and following the steps in page 2 for Gigabyte card however with the settings of the Fan tap of the previous sapphire card and without modifying the memory straps for now, after that if everything is fine then we will proceed with the memory straps modification.

The card works now with power limits only. I am getting 56MH / s at 110w.
This is without any memory strap mods.
I did increase the DPM3 memory to 970.
Great, let us now apply the memory modification,

it seems the board part number of the first Sapphire card is different from the second one that is why it did not accept the previous modded bios,

Regarding the dpm 3 is the Dynamic Power Management and 3 is for the maximum memory clock that the chip can reach, for now there is no use of setting it more than 950 MHz as Hive os does not support more than this at the moment,

I am awaiting your updates.

I will reduce the DPM 950.
I will have to continue tomorrow.
the status at the moment, the power mods and limits are working well. The memory straps have not been modified.
I will be waiting for instructions about the modifications to the straps. Just copy the 1550 strap to higher frequencies doesn’t work.

Please, could you apply the memory modification to the new moded working bios now by:
1- copying the 1550 MHz strap to the rest after it, if it is not a success then,
2- apply the vram timings setting of test 1,

Regarding the Sapphire first card, have you changed the tREF to 12000 Micron and 9000 Samsung when you applied the vram timings setting of test 1?
What was the result compared to 1550 MHz strap when copied to the rest after with tREF changed to 12000 Micron snd 9000 Samsung?
Have you managed to apply the vram timings setting of test 1 with tREF changed to 12000 Micron to the Gigabyte card yet?

Good morning.
I just realized that the second Sapphire card reports SAMSUNG memory. I didn't think that the same card may have a different memory. No wonder I cannot stabilize the card, the card cannot run over 920DPMS, and run it at lower speed.

The card fails Test1.
I am getting 57.3MH/s t 108W.
Can I get 59MH/s with the card with Samsung memory?
If yes, what mod setting to apply to the cards with Samsung memory?

Thank you,

Good morning,

No wonder, at the meantime let us only increase the tREF to 9000 without any other modification,

I believe for Samsung memory we need to increase the memory voltage in order for it to run with modified straps to (1365 or 1360) mv however let us do the tREF modification and check.

I did change the Samsung tREF to 9000, put the 1550 strap to all frequencies above, and the card is working. At memory above 910 I am getting Invalid Shares errors.

Where do I need to modify to increase the mv to 1365-1360?

I believe you can do it using hive os by increasing the MVDD from 1350 mv to 1360 mv as a start.

So I don't have to modify the bios?
What does the Maximum Voltage SoC 1200 controlls?

With MVDD set to 1360 in HiveOS I am still getting not about 57.0MH/s

The SoC (system on chip) it controls the gpu chip and it is not related to the memory as the memory here is separated,

What we need to look for regarding the memory when mining is memory voltage MVDD and memory controller voltage VDDCI,
Let us try to increase the memory voltage MVDD to 1360 mv and the VDDCI to 850 mv and the memory core to 930 MHz as a start.

The card returns Incorrect shares at 930.
Speed is 58.1MH/s, power is 116W
